Abstract
Globally, institutions are trying to create the best organizational structure, which is also a primary factor for influencing the effectiveness of the implementation strategy of the organization. The developing of the organization’s structure is based on its goals and mission. The information systems are necessary for creating efficient organizational elements. Modern organizations are linked to several developments described in the theory of management. The aim of the paper is to present partial results of research in the field of knowledge management and identify the current status and possibility of applying the pillars of reengineering, as a tool of increasing the performance of organizations, local self-government of the Slovak Republic. The scientific contribution is part of the VEGA project number 1/0098/13 called “Process Management at Transformation of organization of Public Administration from Traditional Organization into Knowledge Organization”.
