Evaliation of the Quality of the Institutional Environment

Abstract

The quality of the institutional environment, quality management, is an important factor affecting the future economic growth and the competitiveness of countries. The contribution brings the results of the two aggregate indicators of the quality of the institutional environment that uses the World Bank, and government effectiveness and regulatory quality. For more precise evaluation of the effectiveness of government we have used indicator of the transparency of government policymaking, diversion of public funds and wastefulness of government spending. Evaluation of the quality of regulation was based on an index of starting a business, burden of government regulation, the effectiveness of anti-monopoly policy and economic freedom index. Results obtained V4 we confronted with developments in the EU. Comparison of selected indicators enable the evaluation of the quality of the institutional environment in selected countries.
