Abstract
Ownership of communal property and financial resources of their own community are essential conditions for the fulfillment of self-government and community development needs. It is possible to assume that public property is one of the aspects that allow municipalities to improve their performance. This paper focuses on the importance of communal property, and further analyzes the development of equity indicators municipalities in Slovakia.
